Assessment:

  • By creating their writing assignments/portfolios with computer applications, students can edit, re-write and present a more in-depth representation of their work. Student progress is discussed and measured through writing and teacher comment on each writing entry. Rubrics can be also used in rating. Other evaluations of the project are based on improved reading, writing, technology use and visualization skills experienced through writing activities. Students, teachers, as well as parents and web visitors are able to offer comments, suggestions and input. This kind of assessment gives students an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge through a method more appropriate to their skills, interests and needs.
